CANTERBURY RIVERSIDE 10k
SUNDAY 22nd MARCH 2020
18th March 2020 - Coronavirus Update
Despite being optimistic right up to the last minute (ie - now !) I have reluctantly decided to postpone this Sunday's race at Chartham until the situation becomes clearer and we can re-set another date. I think all other event organisers have gone down the same route, some have stated that the end of April may see the resumption of races but I think that may be too early.
We won't issue any refunds but will give everyone the option of "Race Credit" which means you can use your entry fee for any of our other events (once we commence again) or just wait for the new date for the 10k. If all else fails you will still have an entry for next year which will be 21.03.21 .
Thank you for your co-operation
Canterbury Riverside 10k is one of the most scenic runs around. This traffic-free course along the River Stour links Chartham with the centre of Canterbury and makes it one of the flattest courses you will ever run.
Starting from our HQ in Chartham, we run one lap of the playing field (which spreads the 400 runners out) before hitting the River Stour pathway which winds its way alongside the river all the way to 'Toddlers Cove'. The route then turns and re-traces all the way back to the finish at HQ. Out and back runs always give the opportunity for front runners to see who is coming up from behind and those behind can see how much more effort they have to put in to move up the field...
Excellent marshalling, signage, medals and trophies (Male and Female 1st, 2nd and 3rd, age groups and top team) with bag storage, refreshments and toilets available at HQ.
Chip timing will be provided by NE Timing.
